Evening Church

bankOur evening church service is called 6:30 Church. 6:30 Church meets on Sunday nights from 6:30pm at St James' Carlton (Cnr Henry & Percival Streets, Carlton). St George North has only one night service which means that it is a regional church and is well supported by all of our morning congregations as well. For more information see the 6:30 Church section of our website.

Gospel Teams

Join-a-Small-Group-GraphicA key part of our church life is our Gospel Teams.  These groups of between 5 and 15 people meet each week to share their lives, study the Bible pray together and work out how they can spur one another on to serve.  It is our hope that every member of the church is a member of one of these groups.  Currently there are groups meeting as follows:

  • Monday Night (mens, ladies mixed)
  • Thursday morning (ladies)
  • Wednesday night (mens & mixed)
  • Thursday night (mens, ladies & mixed)
  • Friday night (mens, ladies mixed)

For more information contact Phil on 9553 1840.

Jitterbugz Carlton

Jitterbugz Carlton 2Jitterbugz Carlton is a musical playgroup for all children aged 0-5 years and their parents or caregivers. We meet on Wednesday mornings during term time at St James’ Church (corner of Henry and Percival Streets, Carlton).
What happens during the morning?

9:50am: Sign in begins in the church building
10:00am: Short games session for children (3+), run by leaders

10:15am: Music session begins (including a Bible story)
10:35am: Move over to the halls for morning tea followed by free play and craft
11:20am: Everyone helps pack away toys
11:30am: Finish

During our music session we play simple musical instruments; use props such as ribbons and parachutes; do action songs and sing nursery rhymes. Caregivers participate with their children throughout this session, helping and encouraging them to join in.
During story time, we listen to a story relating to the term’s theme. Caregivers sit with their children and help them to sit quietly and listen.
During morning tea, caregivers sit with their children and together enjoy fruit from the platters.
During free-play time, there is a range of quality toys available for the children to play with, and plenty of time for the adults to have a chat. An optional craft is available for parents to help their children complete.
What to bring?
$20 per term per family (donation towards running costs)
A piece of cut-up fruit per person in the family (to be combined into fruit platters for children and adults to share)
A water bottle for your child
A willingness to participate with your child and have FUN!
Due to the popularity of the group, we may need to cap numbers soon. Please contact us if you would like to come along. You can contact the church office on 955 31840 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Sunday Services

carlton publicWe meet every Sunday at two different locations in Carlton. Our 9am family service meets at St James' Carlton (Cnr Henry & Percival Streets, Carlton). Our 10:30am family service meets in the Carlton Public School hall. Both services include a thriving Kids Church for families to take advantage of.

Regardless of which service you attend, we are a family of people who try to follow Jesus every day and who love to meet together on Sundays to hear what he has to say to us in his Word in the Bible. We love to welcome new friends and invite you to come and join us this Sunday!
